Product Overview The MAX3085CSA+T from Maxim Integrated Products is a fail-safe, slew rate limited RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin NSOIC package. This high speed transceiver for RS485/RS422 communication contains one driver and one receiver. The fail-safe circuitry in this device features a logic high receiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted, it means that the receiver output will be a logic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). This device offer higher driver output slew rate limits allowing transmit speed up to 500Kbps. It typically draws 375µA of supply current when unloaded or when fully loaded with the drivers disabled. It has a 1/8 unit load receiver input impedance that allows up to 256 transceivers on the bus. Typical applications include RS422/RS485 communications, level translators, transceivers for EMI sensitive applications and industrial control local area networks.
