Product Overview The MAX13485EESA+T is a half-duplex RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin NSOIC package. This is a ±15KV ESD-protected RS485 transceiver features one driver and one receiver. Device has fail-safe circuitry and logic-high receiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver outputs logic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). It includes a hot-swap capability to eliminate false transitions on the bus during power-up or live-insertion. Transceiver features reduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, it allows error-free transmission up to 500Kbps. It is used in utility meters and automated HVAC systems.
