Product Overview The MAX487EESA+T is a ±15KV ESD protected, slew rate limited, low power RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin NSOIC package. This device is used as a low power transceiver for RS485 and RS422 communications in harsh environments. The driver output and receiver input is protected against ±15KV electro static discharge (ESD) shocks without latch-up. The reduced slew rate driver minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, thus allowing error free data transmission up to 250Kbps. The driver is short circuit current limited and is protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high impedance state. It features fail-safe circuitry which has a logic high receiver output when the receiver input is open. Supply voltage range from 4.75V to 5.25V Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C Designed for half duplex communication Low current shutdown mode consume 0.5µA current Features receiver/driver enable function Quiescent current is 120µA Quarter unit load receiver input impedance Allows up to 128 transceivers on the bus Industrial-Control Local Area Networks; Level Translators; Low-Power RS-422 Transceivers; Low-Power RS-485 Transceivers; Transceivers for EMI-Sensitive Applications Applications Communications & Networking, Industrial Product Information Device Type: Transceiver IC Interface Type: RS422, RS485 No. of Drivers: 1Drivers No. of Receivers: 1Receivers Supply Voltage Min: 4.75V Supply Voltage Max: 5.25V Driver Case Style: NSOIC No. of Pins: 8Pins Operating Temperature Min: -40°C Operating Temperature Max: 85°C Product Range: - Automotive Qualification Standard: - MSL: MSL 1 - Unlimited
